Case Studies
We assisted our client completely reshape the mine plan by optimising the pit design, changing the dragline method and shifting the focus from maximizing dragline utilization to optimising for truck shovel. The recommendations resulted in faster pit turnover, lower strip ratio and reduced waste truck cycle times thereby significantly increasing cash margins.
We introduced highwall mining into the Client’s mine plan for the pits nearing the final limits. Assisted client in developing the initial scope and planning assumptions for inclusion in the mine plan followed by engaging external expert to undertake further studies. This resulted in reduction of ~A$4-5/t and improved production by 0.5Mtpa over the five year plan
We developed pathways to reduce the operating cost for Client’s mines by ~15% from the current plan commitments by conducting cost and productivity benchmarking and developing the structural cost model. The structural cost model was customized to individual mines considering site parameters including material type, pit geometry and haul parameters.
We developed a localised Asset centric framework to prioritise transformation initiatives embedding risking and overlaps with continuous improvement initiatives. Delivered full Supply Chain constraint / bottleneck analysis to identify highest priority processes. Successfully developed and integrated the Asset Transformation Strategy driving an increase in productivity by 10% and reduced cost by 10%
